Read what the Claude file can establish
A signed credential can describe Claude generating or processing a file. Read those actions together with integrity and signer trust; a software label or a credential by itself does not establish complete authorship.
File credentials
Inspect the manifest, issuer, recorded actions, and validation returned for the submitted PNG, JPG, or SVG.
Signer trust
An untrusted or invalid credential is reported separately from valid provenance supported by a recognized signer.
Statistical text watermark
Anthropic’s text watermark changes generation statistics. A hidden-character inventory cannot verify that signal.
Private-preview text verification
Anthropic has an access process for eligible organizations. Its text detector is not connected to this file workflow.
Understand results across different files
Compare the original export with the copy you received. These examples explain possible outcomes; your report reflects only the checks completed on your submitted file.

Anthropic's text verifier uses private-preview access. Unicode inspection or writing style cannot substitute for it.
How to check your content
Upload the original Claude image
Choose a PNG, JPEG, or SVG export, up to 10 MB. An original file preserves more provenance than a screenshot or social-media copy.
Check the credential evidence
Read any recorded generator and actions, then evaluate signature validity separately from signer trust and editable software tags.

Frequently asked questions
What can I check on this Claude watermark page?
Upload a PNG, JPEG, or SVG to inspect C2PA records, signature status, signer trust, software declarations, and available Anthropic attribution. This file workflow does not decode the statistical watermark in pasted Claude text.
Does Claude watermark text?
Anthropic documents a model-level watermark for supported Claude models. It changes statistical patterns during generation, not visible formatting or zero-width characters. Its detection API is in private preview for eligible organizations.
Can I use Anthropic's text watermark detection API here?
It is not connected to this checker. Anthropic controls private-preview access; a general text classifier or a public SynthID example cannot replace the correct provider configuration and detection service.
What does a Claude C2PA credential tell me?
A credential can record that Claude generated or processed a file. Read the recorded actions alongside signature validity and signer trust. This does not establish that Claude authored every part of the content.
Can I inspect a Claude-generated SVG?
Yes. This workflow supports SVG as well as PNG and JPEG. It inspects the file's provenance record, not whether every graphic or piece of text inside the SVG was authored by Claude.
Does no Claude evidence mean the file was made by a person?
No. Metadata can be stripped, older or unsupported exports may not be marked, and a file may have passed through other editors. The report describes evidence in this copy.
